S I N O P S I S

Takdir memang kadang tak bisa dimengerti. Takdir pula yang mempertemukan Frank Barnes (Denzel Washington) dan Will Gordon (Chris Pine) dalam sebuah petualangan panjang menyelamatkan banyak nyawa dari ancaman sebuah kereta maut. Tanpa mereka berdua, kereta api yang mengangkut bahan kimia ini bakal mengancam seluruh warga kota.

Frank adalah mekanik senior di perusahaan kereta api sementara Will adalah seorang kondektur muda yang juga bertugas di tempat Frank. Suatu ketika, saat Frank dan Will bertugas bersama, tersiar kabar kalau ada kereta yang tak bisa dikendalikan dan mengancam seluruh isi kota. Kereta ini tak bisa dihentikan karena tak ada awak kereta yang menjalankan gerbong maut ini.

Berbekal pengalamannya selama bertugas, Frank mengajak Will untuk berusaha menghadang kereta maut yang berisi bahan kimia berbahaya ini sebelum terguling dan menjadi ancaman buat semua orang. Ini bukan usaha mudah karena tak ada orang yang setuju pada rencana Frank yang dianggap ingin menjadi pahlawan. Hanya Will yang bersedia ikut dalam misi bunuh diri ini meskipun Will tak pernah akrab dengan Frank.

Casino Jack is a 2010 film starring Kevin Spacey and directed by George Hickenlooper. The film focuses on the career of Washington, D.C. lobbyist, and businessman.Jack Abramoff, who was involved in a massive corruption scandal that led to the conviction of himself, two White House officials, Rep. Bob Ney, and nine other lobbyists and congressional staffers. Abramoff was convicted of fraud, conspiracy, and tax evasion in 2006 and of trading expensive gifts, meals and sports trips in exchange for political favors. He is currently living in a halfway house and is scheduled for release on December 4, 2010.

Filming took place in June 2009 in various locations across Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, including McMaster University and downtown Hamilton. The film is scheduled for release in December, 2010 and will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.

This was Hickenlooper's final film. He died on October 30, 2010, several weeks before its scheduled national opening.

Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds) sebenarnya bukanlah pria yang siap menerima ajal namun karena tuntutan pekerjaan, terpaksa ia berangkat ke Irak untuk bekerja sebagai kontraktor di sana. Paul tahu kalau bekerja di Irak artinya ia harus menanggung risiko namun ia tak pernah membayangkan risikonya akan sebesar yang akan ia hadapi.

Suatu ketika, Paul terbangun dan merasa ada yang aneh. Di sekitarnya begitu gelap sementara sepertinya tak banyak ruang buatnya untuk bergerak. Setelah kesadarannya mulai pulih Paul menemukan korek api, sebilah pisau dan sebuah ponsel. Dengan penerangan seadanya dari korek api yang ia temukan, Paul sadar kalau ia berada di sebuah ruangan yang sangat sempit. Bukan hanya sempit ternyata ia tak punya ruang gerak sama sekali.

Paul tak tahu bagaimana ia bisa berada di dalam peti mati. Paul juga tak mengerti siapa yang mengurungnya di dalam peti mati dan dengan tujuan apa. Harapan hidup Paul hanya tinggal ponsel yang ada di tangannya. Tapi itupun bukan solusi yang mudah karena ternyata Paul tidak hanya dikurung di dalam peti mati tapi juga dikubur hidup-hidup. Sebentar lagi baterai ponsel Paul akan habis sementara ia tak bisa menghubungi siapa pun.

R E V I E W

The film starts with Jai Dixit (Emraan Hashmi), a youngster who sells pirated DVDs. One day, his uncle Joseph (Gulshan Grover) caught him and changed his personality completely, he changed his name to Suraj Bhardwaj and sends him off to Australia. At the airport, he meets Romi Latti, a teenager who got a scholarship to a University College. He also meets Suhani (Neha Sharma), a young girl who has come to pick Romi up. Suraj gets attracted to Suhani, and therefore he pretends to be Romi and leaves with Suhani. When Suhani finds out that he is not the real Romi, Suraj makes a run for it. Suraj then stays with Goldie, a responsible adult living with his brothers. While Suraj is at a grocery store, on phone with his uncle Joseph, he finds that Australians are attacking the shopkeeper because he is a Muslim, so Suraj finds a gun and comes out. He has the Australians on the gunpoint as the police come. Suraj remembers that his uncle told him not to get in any type of trouble with the police, so Suraj runs away. Suraj hides in Nicole's car, although he finds out Nicole is the younger sister of the Attackers. Nicole works in a strip club named 'Duke's Club'. When Suraj has to pick between Suhani and Nicole, he picks Suhani and takes the duty to be Suhani's brother, Samarth's (Arjan Bajwa) driver. When Samarth's car breaks down, Suraj has to get help, but instead he tells Romi to go and fix his car so Suhani and Suraj can have a beautiful night together. But when they are about to kiss, Samarth shows up, and concepts that Romi has been badly beaten up by Australians on the highway and Romi and Samarth are about to protest against the Australians. When Samarth is attacked, he loses his temper and kidnaps Nicole, when Suraj goes to save Nicole, it turns out that Samarth is planning to murder Nicole and blame the murder on Suraj, and he is doing all this because his sister Sheena was also murdered by the Australians once. But when he accidentally shoots Suraj, Romi comes up behind him with a shovel and smacks it round Samarth's head and he dies. The film ends with Suhani and Suraj getting back together.

S Y N O P S I S

Kareena Kapoor stars as Priya, a college girl who abhors guys who drink, smoke, and lie. A tarot card reader — played by the great Kirron Kher, who acts like she’s embarrassed to be in the movie — informs Priya that she’s going to meet her soulmate on a foreign beach in seven days. The next day, Priya learns that she’s been selected to attend a youth conference in Bangkok.

At the same time, good-for-nothing fellow college student Immy (Shahid Kapoor) finagles his way onto the same trip. In Bangkok, he stumbles into Priya’s room while running from the cops and immediately falls in love with the sleeping beauty. He steals her diary and learns about the tarot card reader’s prediction. He makes sure he’s the one waiting for Priya on the beach on the seventh day.

Of course, pretending to be Priya’s fated soulmate means Immy must give up drinking and smoking. After he finally decides that being with Priya is worth abstaining, she discovers his scheme and calls the relationship off.

At this point, Milenge Milenge becomes a full-fledged Serendipity clone. The couple meet up in India when they both reach for the same item in a department store. Priya has Immy write his name and phone number on a 50 rupee note, and she writes hers inside of a book. Then she gives both the book and bill away. If Priya and Immy are destined to be together, she reasons, he’ll find the book with her name and she’ll find the note with his.

The film starts with a hooded, apparently disfigured individual eating at a diner, being watched by a stranger at the bar. Unknown to him, the man's name is Wyburd (Clive Russell) who has been stalking the young man. He eventually convinces the boy to join him in his truck, where he soon passes out. The boy awakens strapped to a table and Wyburd offers the boy a choice by killing him; offering him a slow death, or a quick and clean death by hearing the story of the Book of Blood a series of scars and inscriptions carved from head to toe. Opting for a clean death, the boy reveals his story.

A young girl alone in her bedroom is violently hurled against the ceiling, raped and beaten in her bed while her parents stand outside screaming her name. Shortly before the authorities break in, an unseen force literally rips her face off and inscribes on the doorway "Do not mock us." Several months later, a paranormal professor Mary Florescu (Sophie Ward) and her partner Reg Fuller (Paul Blair) investigate the house in order to unlock its mysteriously murderous past. Mary encounters Simon McNeal (Jonas Armstrong) a seemingly clairvoyant young boy in her classroom to whom she develops an attraction, both physically and due to his mutual connection to the paranormal as she had had a similar encounter in the past. Simon reluctantly signs on to assist in uncovering the presence in the house, and the three of them move in. The first night, a series of strange encounters culminates in an attack on Simon as he is hurled across his bedroom. A series of writings on the closet walls light up, much to the shock of both Mary and Reg. Mary begins to develop intimate feelings for Simon after a particularly arousing dream, and focuses on his abilities unlocking the potential of paranormal studies in the house. Reg expresses his doubts and has Mary take the charred writing to a lab for an analysis.

Simon reciprocates Mary's feelings and the pair fall in love, in particular after a second incident which was more violent and prevalent than the first, Simon awakening with more scars across his body, and Mary has a violent encounter of her own where she is terrified by the spirits of a group of little girls. She tells Simon and Reg that when she was a child, she had seen a fountain which was dried up, but every night would become soaked and spraying with blood, fearing being called crazy, she never told anyone about these visions, when excavators decided to remove the fountain, they found the body of a little girl. Tracking down the girl's father, they found he had claimed six more victims before being caught, wracking Mary with guilt for not telling the authorities of what she had seen. One afternoon, Mary receives a phone call and abruptly departs, leaving Simon on the street, when he tracks her down at the house, she reveals that she discovered he had been lying, using gunpowder and sulfur to commit the "paranormal" experiences. He confesses that the first time he did fake it, but the second time was real. After she refuses to believe him, he storms out. Reg comes in later and she shows him a transmitter sewn into the bottom of his mattress which was used to flicker the power of Reg's equipment during the experiences. Simon returns, determined to prove that he really had his powers back, as he had believed to lost his clairvoyance when he was thirteen, years after the death of his brother which he had predicted (and earned his reputation to Mary). And was determined to keep them. He goes up again to face the ghosts and again is attacked.

Keinginan Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr) mungkin tak terlalu muluk-muluk namun adakalanya keinginan yang sederhana pun jadi sesuatu yang sangat rumit saat dijalankan. Akibatnya, bukan saja keinginan itu jadi terancam tak terpenuhi namun bisa saja ada orang tak bersalah yang harus jadi korban.

Peter hanya ingin pulang tepat waktu agar ia bisa berada di samping istrinya saat melahirkan nanti. Semua sudah diperhitungkan. Peter yakin akan tiba di rumah sebelum istrinya melahirkan. Tapi ada satu hal yang tak diperhitungkan Peter, bujuk rayu orang lain yang mengajaknya menempuh perjalanan darat dan bukannya menggunakan pesawat seperti yang direncanakan Peter.

Karena bujukan Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis), Peter terpaksa setuju menempuh perjalanan darat. Ternyata, perjalanan darat yang semula berpotensi jadi petualangan seru ini malah jadi malapetaka. Bukannya jadi perjalanan mulus yang menyenangkan tapi Ethan dan Peter malah menghadapi risiko tak bisa sampai ke Atlanta tepat pada waktunya. Selain Andhara, sejatinya mereka masih bisa dibilang anak-anak karena masih sekolah SMA. Keluarga yang tidak harmonis dan desakan ekonomi membuat mereka terjerumus ke dalam upaya sesaat dalam mendapatkan uang tanpa kerja keras. Ironis mungkin, kita tidak bisa nemampik bahwa kejadian itu memang ada. Film ini tidak memberikan penyeimbang dari setiap masalah yang dihadapi pemainnya. Seolah-olah kehidupan hanya berkutat dengan materi. Menjual diri adalah satu-satunya cara untuk menutup kebutuhan akan materi. Posisi orang tua dan guru sama-sama tidak dimaksimalkan sebagai pencegah kejadian itu bertambah parah. Justru menjadi pemicu persoalan semakin panjang. Anak-anak dibebani permasalahan yang seharusnya menjadi permasalahan orang tua. Selain itu keinginan untuk tampil gaya dengan segala macam barang yang canggih.

Sashi (Arumi Bachsin), yang menjadi germo teman-temannya, dikeluarkan dari sekolah karena salah satu gadisnya ada yang hamil, dan ia dinyatakan bersalah. Sementara May, difitnah oleh sahabatnya sendiri. Gadis polos ini disebut sebagai pelacur, sehingga membuat kepala sekolah juga mengambil sikap mengeluarkannya dari sekolah. Mendengar hal itu, orang tua May marah dan tidak mengizinkannya kembali ke rumah. Kejadian May dan Sashi ini terjadi pada hari dan sekolah yang sama. Saat meratapi nasib, mereka bertemu, berkenalan, dan akhirnya bersahabat. Sashi memberi tumpangan tempat tinggal bagi May. Di tempat koslah May bertemu Andhara (Okkie Callerista, nama lain dari Okie Agustina -red) dan Dessy. Andhara adalah seorang bartender di tempat Dessy menari striptease.

Demi mencari uang untuk pengobatan ibunya May bekerja sebagai penari di club tempat Andhara bekerja, walaupun Andhara melarangnya May sangat bersikeras sekali, yang Andhara bisa lakukan hanya melindungi May dari gangguan pria-pria hidung belang, yang mengganggu May. Hingga satu ketika terjadi perkelahian, Andhara menghajar seorang pria yang melecehkan May. Ditengah keributan itu Rangga seorang pemuda membantu membela Andhara dan May.

Setelah kejadian itu hubungan May dengan Rangga pun semaikin dekat, Andhara yang cemburu merasa ada yang aneh dengan perlakuan Rangga. Kecurigaannya Andhara pun terbukti, Rangga hanya ingin menodai May, tapi May berhasil melarikan diri. Andhara langsung memberi pelajaran kepada Rangga. Teenagers meet in chat room, and on many occasions celebrations take place in the main chat room named "Chelsia teens". The chatroom is portrayed on screen, as real-life room where people talk as a regular chat room on a computer screen. After a paedophile posing as a girl enters the chat room, they install a bell to fully secure the site. The main character's bad behavior quickly produces problems with parents that try to take his computer and cellphone away. Things get even more complicated with crime, cops, guns and a suicide attempt.

Two boys, Dane (17) and Lucas (10 years old), are left alone in their new home by their mother (Susan). When exploring the basement, they discover a locked trapdoor. Hoping for treasure, they unlock it, finding a hole of seemingly endless depth. With help of the girl from next door, Julie, they try to solve the mystery, having to face their fears as they do so. Dane's fear is his dad (who might also be the hole's master), Lucas' fear was clowns, and Julie's was her dead best friend, who fell off a roller coaster ride when Julie didn't save her.

In this globalization era, we often see many kinds of events such as the difficulty to buy fuel that is caused by increasing world oil prices, seems to make the financial stability of countries troubled. Many kinds of public facilities that should be cared for by government funds abandoned. The streets were badly damaged, flooding and so on.

Therefore, the government seems to be confused at finding new alternatives to replenish the financial of country that is disrupted. For example, the government increases the price of food stuff, such as increasing fuel price or making new tax type or increasing the existing tax, and finally makes Indonesian more trouble. The strange thing is Indonesian government does not want to admit that Indonesia is in trouble. Even more, they still continue to find more initiative to increase the financial of country.

Actually there are some ways to overcome the financial difficulties of our country. We suggest legalizing gambling. This does not mean legalizing gambling can be done by anyone in anytime or anywhere, but the government must find or make gambling localization in a special place that it is not easy to reach by common people, so the visitors are really selected.

Obviously this proposal would have problems or opposition from various groups, whether public or religious group. But it keeps in mind that legalizing gambling will decrease illegal gambling that does not give the advantages for this country.

UK parliament: tradition and change

In the 14^th century, the British parliament split into two divisions, the House of Lords, which included the bishops and the aristocracy (or ‘peers’), and the House of Commons, which included representatives of the ordinary people.

The Lords, whose members are not elected and who traditionally inherited their seat in the House from their fathers, no longer have the automatic right to block new laws. The British parliament is the one of the oldest parliamentary systems in the world, and the foreigners are often puzzled by some of its ancient customs. During debates in the House of Commons, for example, members are not permitted to refer to each other by name, but must use the title “The Honorable Member”. This is just one of radical changes that have been imposed on the 700-year-old parliament in recent years, including the creation of separate Scottish Parliament and Welsh and Northern Irish Assemblies.

The ups and downs of the British monarchy

The British people have had a monarchy for rover a thousand years. The relationship between the monarch and the people has suffered some serious crises in the country’s history, but the monarchy always seems to recover.

The biggest crisis in the monarchy’s history came in 1649 when the king was actually condemned to death by parliament. For over 20 years she performed no national duties. People became critical of the monarchy and in a time of huge industrial and scientific progress, members of parliament began to talk about republicanism.

When George V died in January 1936, his heir Edward was in love with a twice-divorce American women, Wallis Simpson. His family and the government disapproved of Mrs. Simpson, but Edward wanted to marry her. In the end he was forced to choose between his love and the throne, and he chose to abandon the throne.

In modern times, people began to see the monarchy outdated, but the royal family was given a tremendous boost in 1981, when Prince Charles married the popular Princess Diana. Diana became an international superstar, more popular than her husband from whom she divorced in 1996. When she died in a car crash in 1997 many people accused the royal family of treating her badly during her marriage and abandoning her after her divorce. Celebrations for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002 were deliberately kept low-key, as the organizers feared that the public would not be interested.
